[Podcast Series] 5 Types of Content & Episodes To Create For your Podcast

[Podcast Series] 5 Types of Content & Episodes To Create For your Podcast

In this episode…

Podcasts have become incredibly mainstream. If you have a business, you should consider starting a podcast. Podcasts are the easiest and most cost-effective marketing tool. Podcasts are also a terrific method of connecting with potential customers or clients. If you have a podcast, you’re probably already thinking about what kind of content to post. Below are five types of content you should create.

Apple
Spotify
stitcher
Google Play
tune in
iheart
amazon
radio republic
deezer
  1. Thought Leadership

Thought leadership podcasts are recordings of your thoughts. Think about the times you have given advice or the countless times you’ve had the same questions asked of you. Thought leaderships allow you to record your hot takes on these topics and serve as a way to assert your expertise.

Thought leadership can derive from any member of your organization or space. The answers are not based on hierarchy or education. Instead, it should be the best, well-thought-out answers to the most curious questions.

Also, thought leadership serves as a resource, saving you from having to overly explain a topic. Once the episode is uploaded, your team members, podcast listeners, and the general public can reference it on demand.

  1. Referral Partners, Strategic Partners, and Big Champions

Referral partners, strategic partners, and big champions are guests who work in the same field, share your company’s core values, or have the same types of clients as you do. Having these types of guests on your podcasts fosters relationships and leads to more referrals. As a result, your potential to gain more referral partners and clients increases.

  1. Clients

Are you having trouble thinking of future guests? Invite your clients for a chat and profile them and their businesses.

Having clients as guests is the most advantageous way to receive unsolicited testimonials. As you are interviewing your clients, they most likely will explain the services you offer and how they have benefitted from those services. As a result, the interview reveals a client relationship to the public, shows you positively to companies you want to partner with, and possibly garners interest. It is also a win for your client because not only are you promoting the client, but you are promoting their business.

  1. Potential Clients

Potential clients can either be someone you are interested in working with or someone you have never met. Inviting a prospective client to your podcast works as a warmer introduction. It is also more of a give than an ask. Instead of “bulldozing” a potential client about your products or services, you can feature them on your podcast. In the same way you feature current clients, you would promote those prospective clients and their businesses. Afterward, the interview serves as a segway to discuss why you want to work with them and how you can best serve them.

  1. Authority Figures

Who are authority figures? These are people who are considered experts in the field or industry that you share. They are generally leaders (directors, founders, CEO’s or members of the C-Suite), speakers, authors, gurus, influencers, and celebrities. Featuring authority figures on your podcast works in favor because it gives your platform credibility.

Learn more about the types of content to feature on your podcast in this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast. The host, Dr. Jeremy Weisz, sits down with his Rise25 Co-founder, John Corcoran, to discuss the value of thought leadership, referral, and strategic partner-focused and client-based content. Plus, they share how to diversify and leverage your podcast. Stay tuned.
