Though the concept isn’t a new one, the height of the Covid pandemic made working from home essential. Albeit conditions are safe to return to the office, managers and leaders have realized that remote workers are just as productive working from the comforts of home. But how does the isolation affect company and employee morale?

Executive leader Niki Fielding says that with plenty of team effort and brainstorming, company culture can be fun — even when the work environment is entirely remote. When employees are happy and having fun, that energy transfers to partnerships. Therefore, when a team of workers has a set of values, it’s easy to partner with companies that share the same ethics. So, how can you implement an enjoyable culture for your remote work team?

Listen to this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast with Dr. Jeremy Weisz as he speaks with the CEO and President of Digital Brand Expressions, Veronica “Niki” Fielding. They discuss creating a fun and positive work culture where employees are excited to show up for work. Additionally, Niki discusses company values, how to attract strong talent, and how to avoid bias during the hiring process.

Veronica “Niki” Fielding 2:46

Thanks for having me here. Jeremy.

Jeremy Weisz 2:48

You know, I gave you a brief intro, but give people a little bit more about what Digital Brand Expressions does.

Veronica “Niki” Fielding 2:55

We’re very focused on helping our clients succeed. And we have a process that really bakes in success for them. So we look for clients that are highly aligned with our values, so that my team feels very energized about taking their talents, and using it for making the world better. We work with companies, for example, that are they have medical devices for consumers, or companies that are one of our clients I’ll talk about in a little bit, they are taking bias out of the hiring process with their AI test company. So we look to work for companies where we’re going to feel good at the end of the day for helping them succeed, and we consistently help

Jeremy Weisz 3:39

them succeed. We’re going to talk about kind of company perspective versus talent perspective on these topics. But yeah, talk a little more about the bias, taking the bias out of the hiring process.

Veronica “Niki” Fielding 3:52

We all like to think we don’t have biases, but unfortunately, we all do. Some are more stringent than others. Some are our light. And sometimes it’s those light biases that you overlook, they’re really harmful in anything including the hiring process. So our client, I can mention them Modern Hire, what they do is they take they have AI that helps remove that those biases from the process so that candidates all have an equal shot at positions that they deserve.

Jeremy Weisz 4:23

That’s very cool. How did you find them? Or how did they find you?

Veronica “Niki” Fielding 4:27

All of our businesses through referrals. So in this case, the CMO knew of us, had us come in and talk with her about what we could do. We did. Our basic process is really listening and understanding the true challenges of the business and what their marketplace is looking for. And then we walked them through the process and we’ve been very successful with him.
