Everyone has their own story about growing up and their journey to business success. But not everyone moves from a trailer park in Lincoln, Nebraska to owning and running a business that ships millions of boxes to happy subscribers nationwide. Paul went from packing boxes in a studio apartment to occupying a 100,000 square foot warehouse. That’s just a slice of the Paul Jarrett story.

Paul Jarrett is the CEO and Co-Founder of Bulu, the industry authority in creating private-label Subscription Box businesses for the world’s largest retail brands. He grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and worked jobs he didn’t really enjoy, eventually becoming a success story that will inspire people to aim for their own pot of gold.

In this episode of INspiredINsider, Dr. Jeremy Weisz interviews Paul Jarrett about what it was like growing up and how his parents continue to influence him today. They discuss the struggles and challenges he has been through, experiencing culture shock, reaching out and learning from successful people, and how he set his business apart from everyone else. Jeremy Weisz 0:22
Dr. Jeremy Weisz here founder of INspiredINsider.com where I talk with inspirational entrepreneurs and leaders like the founders you’ve heard of some you’ve never heard of the founder of p90x Tony Horton, you know, Paul, and I like to talk about is the challenging times. So yeah, like he made hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars and p90x DVDs right. But what people don’t know is the way he made food and rent money is he would put his head on the street. He was a street performer and he would do my street miming for food and rent money. And I Julie Clark, founder of Baby Einstein, she grew a company at $20 million, with five employees sold to Disney but the most impressive part To me was that she beat cancer twice. And I had Atari founder Nolan Bushnell on who was Steve Jobs as mentor. And he talked about how when Steve, Steve offered him 33% of Apple for $50,000. And why he said no. And he also talked about when he, I don’t know if he lost everything but pretty much lost everything. They decided to go on a trip around the world. And he told his kids Yeah, we’re just going to go on a trip around the world and he had so much so many friends all over the world, they just would stay with friends. So his his family thought they were taking this amazing vacation. They didn’t know they were doing it because they lost a lot of their their money in their house.

So there’s some crazy stories there. So check out inspiredinsider.com, and this episode and the show is brought to you by Rise25 which I co-founded with my business partner john Corcoran, and what we do is we help b2b businesses connect to their dream 100 clients and referral partners and we help you Get ROI by running your podcast. And, you know for me, Paul and I will talk about Paul’s podcasts that I’m gonna give a shout out for failed disclosure. But for me, podcasting is a lot more personal. Yes, it I think it’s the best thing ever for relationship building and to give to other businesses to profile them. But it’s personal to me because it was inspired by my grandfather, who was a Holocaust survivor and him and his brother were in concentration camps in Nazi Germany. And they were the only members of their family to survive. So his words and legacy live on because the Holocaust foundation actually did an interview with him. And you can watch that interview I have it on my about page I watch it multiple times a year. There’s a full like, if you go to the inspiredinsider.com about page you go to the bottom. It’s a full interview of him talking about essentially the atrocities that happened to him. But it’s an inspiration to me every day if I find myself complaining or thinking something’s hard, I think, well, they didn’t burn my building down and try and exterminate me. And I wasn’t hiding the forest for three weeks, you know. So it puts things in a little bit perspective there. So, but I personally, credit podcasting is a single best thing I’ve done for my business in my life, outside of my wife, of course. And we’ve worked with Berkshire Hathaway companies to Harvard alumni group to all these all sorts of b2b businesses. So I think any business should have a podcast hands down period. And I would tell that to someone even before we had a service, Paul that actually did that, because of the relationships and so if you have questions, you know, go to Rise25.com or email us [email protected], and I joke around Paul, that everything good goes back to a podcast and Paul and I and john met because of podcasting. We were doing the official podcast one of the conferences, and that’s how we actually met Paul, and I’m going to introduce today’s guests. Super excited. I’ve admired his work in him from afar for a long time. And we have Paul Jarrett, the co-founder with his wife Stephanie Jared of Bulu. And if you don’t know what Bulu is, check out their website. I think you go to blue box or Bulu group right blue box
