There is something so special about taking your skill and bringing it to the masses. Carrie Abbott loved making confections and candies for years, but it was just recently that she ventured out as a small business owner. After boxing up some leftover peanut and chocolate candies from a wedding, she catered – Carrie sent the leftovers to friends and family as a gift. To her surprise – the leftovers were a hit, and the idea to start her own confectionary business was born. While it isn’t easy, Carrie is committed to using her talent to create delicious candy. What can you learn from Carrie’s story?

How do you react to challenges that come your way? Do you find yourself rising to the occasion or do you struggle with finding the right approach? Too many leaders are lost when it comes to finding the right way to lead their organizations – especially entrepreneurs. They get so focused on getting the business off of the ground that they fail to adequately plan for the next stage of their business’s growth. Thankfully, leaders like Carrie Abbott are leading the way by taking the time to select a Chief Operating Officer to help share the leadership workload. Since hiring a COO – Carrie has been able to focus on aspects of the business that will help sustain their growth.
