We’re Live. This is InspiredInsider.com and Dr. Jeremy Weisz is here with Dr. Blair Feldman, who is Co-founder of Retainer Club and Mouthguard Club, and Blair, we’re in his headquarters here in Arizona. Blair, just tell people a little bit about Retainer Club and we’ll talk about Mouthguard Club, too.

Blair Feldman  1:43

Yeah, so, the Retainer Club, we founded about six years ago. And my partner and I, Craig Weiss, who I always say is not a dentist or orthodontist. He’s a patent attorney, and then was the former CEO of a consumer products company, that he grew from 10 million to a billion valuation in just three years. So it was a great guy to sort of partner up with to bring this idea that I had in my orthodontic offices for easy, affordable retainer replacement, which is so needed you know, nowadays especially everyone likes to do their shopping online, you know, when does it happen when your son or daughter comes to you and says they lost or broke their retainer and happens at like nine at night and what are you gonna do the traditional way is you wait till Monday morning and you call the office and you hope they get back to you and then they schedule you take the kids out of school, and then you go see the orthodontist or the dentist and get your scans or impressions and then come back in and do it again couple weeks later, so it’s just not the way people you know want to be service nowadays. They want easy online affordable, they want like Netflix, you know, Amazon, so we created a way for orthodontists to service their patients and replace retainers easy online, affordably. So Retainer Club is basically like Dollar Shave Club for retainers, but done on behalf of the orthodontist. And so it’s been six or seven years. And we’re in more than half the states in the US still growing really rapidly and looking for new dentists and orthodontists to partner with who believed that this would be a great service for their patients. And the ultimate result is patients get to maintain their orthodontic results, basically indefinitely. And also get that clean, fresh set of retainers delivered right to their house, I always would take a message from their dentists are organized. And it’s it’s a great service. We get incredible feedback from patients around the country. And orthodontists and dentists really really love it.

Jeremy Weisz  3:30

What’s an example so people can kind of understand how it works from an office that you’ve worked with?

Blair Feldman  3:35

Yeah, so I mean, we’ve had offices that sort of want to do a service like this for their patients than they started in their office only to find that it kind of gets out of control. Real quick, you know, most dentists and orthodontists aren’t in the manufacturing, you know, product fulfillment, marketing, you know, business, they’re in the, you know, for Worthen out there in the teeth, improving teeth correction business. So when it gets out of control, you know, they a lot of people look for some solutions, and we’re the perfect solution for that. So basically, you’re going to outsource it to us, we can do it for you. And we can basically allow you to focus on treatment. And so we’ve had, we’ve had many offices that do that, and sometimes offices just getting really large, so they get multiple locations and multiple doctors, and it’s really hard. The biggest problem we hear nowadays is staffing. Staffing is challenging and difficult. And I just heard a story last week of an orthodontist who had a program in their office for replacing retainers, it was getting busy and they were now having staffing changes. And so the author has told me my number one the system was now running in the back and making retainers when she could have been helping him and working on profitable treatment. And so he’s like, I need help. So they come to us, they find us and we’re easy to implement and the system easy for teams to sort of bring on you know, and really just it’s you get value right away.

Jeremy Weisz  4:55

So those offices just do a scan and then you You can save it

Blair Feldman  5:00

in your database, yes of the scan. And then they use our portal, we create a partner portal for them to add the patient in. And that scan gets sent us here in Scottsdale, and then we manufacture the retainers and get them shipped out to the office for delivery in seven days, the first set, we always love to go to the office of the orthos can verify is a great fit, and that future sets can be delivered right to the patient.

Jeremy Weisz  5:21

So how did you meet Craig?

Blair Feldman  5:23

So Craig and I have been really close friends for over 20 years. It was We met through our wives actually. And Craig was always a super inspiring businessman really, just, you know, because whether it was patents, you get amazing stories about some of the patents you work with, or whether it was some of his other interests, or I was just I loved being around him. And I remember when he was with this company enjoy. I remember going to see their new facility out here in Scottsdale and saying like, Do you need an in house orthodontist? And he said no, but I have a feeling someday we’re gonna work together on a project. So that’s kind of how we got together in this.

Jeremy Weisz  6:01

And what is it like transitioning from being a practitioner to? So I guess, co founder of retainer club maschere? Club?

Blair Feldman  6:12

Yeah, I would say, it’s definitely interesting. I feel like I learned something new every day. I feel like, you know, orthodontists and dentists are business owners, small business owners, sometimes me human, very large business owners. And you sort of a lot of times do everything. I think my role now is very specific. You know, I’ve worked with kind of the product expert, and the subject matter experts, and then work with the team of really talented people, I think probably the most interesting thing that’s different from a dental or orthodontic practice is I spend my weeks with people who are sort of 10 times smarter than me and all their fields. And it’s very different than being a practice owner, I think, where you work with a different set and a different kind of base of people that oftentimes you’re managing. And, you know, I’m not working with anybody that I’m managing. I’m really working with people that are sort of leading the way and other sort of areas of expertise.

Jeremy Weisz  7:01

So I want to have the Mouthguard Club, too. Yeah. And if you’re, you can see this, but this is what?
